THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
Being happy doesn’t mean everything is perfect.
It means you have decided to look beyond the imperfections.

The Sixth Object of Kiwanis:  To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism, which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

Kiwanis Education #63:   Builders Club is a Kiwanis-sponsored service club for students in junior high and middle schools. Each Builders Club is a local project of its sponsoring Kiwanis club, and there is no district or International Builders Club structure. More than 1,000 Builders Clubs currently are sponsored by Kiwanis clubs to provide service and leadership experiences to junior high and middle school students.

THIS WEEK:

I guess a little plaque with recognition in the community makes all the difference in the world!  I’m saying this because of the many kudos we have received this year for our Every Child A Swimmer program!

A note to Christine from Edna –

"What another marvelous feat!!! Thank you so much for your dedication to this life-saving project!!!!  I think this year's program was very successful.  I am humbled by the coordination between the City, the school board, Trinity, the home-school Key clubbers and the Kiwanis Club. I wish there was a way to adequately thank everyone.  I am so grateful that you heard of this project and followed through with such perseverance."
Also, Jessica Landry, ELC Principal -  "The Program is WONDERFUL.  Comments are ALL positive."

So I’d also like to add what a great job everyone did in making this another banner year for our ECAS project!

Acadiana Home School Key Club immediate Past President, McKenna Andrepont was our guest speaker this week.  McKenna, along with Tyler Matt and Dennis Boudreaux, co-presidents for the upcoming year, gave us a great photographic presentation about what they do during their Key Club year.   I’m happy to report that McKenna applied for and was awarded the Key Club District Scholarship!  Congratulations, McKenna!  Well deserved recognition!

Also Margaret announced that Heather Jones was awarded the SMSH Key Club Scholarship last weekend. Congratulations to Heather also!  Well deserved!

Bike Safety Workshop is fast approaching.  If you can attend, please try to do so!

Our evening meeting next week will be devoted to planning the “Dr. Fournet Appreciation Day.”  Please make every effort to attend.
