The Fourth Object of Kiwanis: To
develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and
serviceable citizenship.
Kiwanis Education
#54:
An inter-club meeting is one which is jointly
planned and held by two or more Kiwanis clubs, or by a Kiwanis club and
any Kiwanis Junior, Circle K club, Key Club, Builders Club, K-Kids, and/or
Aktion Club and duly announced as such in advance through club notices. No
less than a visiting group of four, composed of Kiwanians or a minimum of
two Kiwanians plus members of a Circle K club, Key Club, and/or Builders
Club sponsored by the visiting Kiwanis club, must be in attendance. To
qualify for inter- club credit, the meeting must be an official meeting of
the host club. Conventions, division council meetings, and similar events
do not normally qualify.

THIS
WEEK:
Great meeting this week
with guests Linda Landry from JCEP/PAC and also Susan Carpenter and her
father, Otis Carpenter. Linda was our guest[B13] speaker and gave us such
interesting information about the JCEP program. Susan came to lend her
support to Linda and also to rejoin Kiwanis. And not just talk – she
filled out her application and handed it in right then and there.
We are preparing to venture
to Shreveport to give information and answer questions about Every Child A
Swimmer so that the children in that [G50]area can hopefully benefit from
a program such as ours.
Our head cheerleader,
President Margaret has been on the trail speaking to the different schools
in our area – 6 so far – getting our message out, telling the faculty what
Kiwanis is all about, finding out their needs and partnering them with
other[O63] organizations in our area who could help. Margaret is doing a
tremendous job, no question about it, but can’t we all be cheerleaders?
Can’t we all talk to someone everyday about Kiwanis. Who we are and what
we do? Remember – Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers (that’s
us) dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a
time. LET’S DO IT!!!
If you have someone you
would like to hear as a speaker or a topic you’d like to get more
information on, please call Margaret and let her know. She’s always open
to suggestions.
