THIS
WEEK:
[G54] WOW!
Another awesome guest speaker with such information and enthusiasm. The
acorn does NOT fall far from the tree. Paul Richard, Jr. spoke to us
about his journey with kidney disease and his life on hemodialysis. As he
stressed many times during his very informative talk, dialysis is not the
end – it’s a great artificial kidney working for you so that you can
continue to enjoy life. Paul is so enthusiastic about how to continue
living with kidney disease, he is becoming an advocate – helping those
people [O68] who are struggling with the diagnosis and the disease. He
has the Dialysis Center put him next to someone who needs his help and
counseling (whether they know it or not) and he does what he does best –
talks about the journey. (He is not his mother’s child for nothing –
talking eloquently about kidney disease comes easily for Paul.) When you
hear him speak, as with Eddie Bienvenu last week, you can tell the he has
a passion for what he’s talking about. [B13]As well he should, he’s been
living with kidney disease for a long time.
Bingo confirmed!
Dolores Bourda won bingo, so clear your cards, toss them into the trash.
You’re getting a new card with this bulletin, unless you got one at the
meeting this week.
This Thursday, Jean
and Margaret are traveling with Trinity Builders’ Club members to bring
care packages to [I18]tornado ravaged Rayne. Great project, people!
Congratulations!
Margaret, Jean,
Christine, Elaine and Gerry attended a Key Club meeting at SMSH Wednesday
morning. Can you say INTERCLUB?
April 6 will be an
evening meeting with Key Clubs and St. Martin Sheriff’s office employees
in attendance. We encourage your participation.
Larry Roy is again
spearheading the semi-annual Highway Cleanup on April 16. Larry announced
that if you cannot assist that morning, you may want to [G55] send someone
in your place. 8:00 a.m. at St. Martin National Guard Armory.
Also, don’t forget
the free document shredding brought to you by the St. Martin Parish
Library on Saturday, April 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the parking
lot. |
