THIS WEEK:
Sorry
about no bulletin last week. We got our wires crossed. No excuse – just
apology. And this is one of our busiest times and most rewarding times of
the year. Just to see smiles and excited expressions on the faces of kids
who have been through so much in their short lives – well, you know what I
mean.
Anyway, we’re trying to do our part to make them
smile and have great memories: Foster Children Christmas Party and
Pictures with Santa. Two exceptional projects that make US smile, too!
Can you help? Will you help? Foster Children Party is at Southside Park
in St. Martinville and Kiwanians will be gathering at 4:00 p.m. to begin
the process. The party begins at 6:00 p.m. with Santa slated to arrive at
7:00. Everything should wind down by 8:00.
Editor’s Note:
The Foster Children Christmas Party was so successful each year due in
great part to Annie and Ed Durand’s tireless work. May I suggest that we
make this year’s project extra special to honor Annie’s memory and to
thank Ed for his wonderful assistance each year?
The Pictures with Santa
project will be on Dec. 18 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Journet housing
project. If you have children’s books to donate, please bring them to
Carol or to the project. After Journet, the group will travel to Garden
View Apartments at approx. 10:30 a.m. to take photos there. Again,
another great opportunity to see the smiles and share the joy!
Last week our
Christmas dinner meeting at Clambeaugh’s was awesome. We had great food,
great friends and great attendance! Thanks so much to Audrey for her
delicious meal. We can’t stop bragging about her eggplant dressing (and
with good reason). An interclub with the Kiwanis Club of New Iberia was a
really good thing!
