THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
The probability that we may fail in  the struggle
ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just.
                         –Abraham Lincoln

The Fifth Object of Kiwanis:  To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.

Kiwanis Education #58:  The organization date, when a new club meets officially to elect officers and adopt its bylaws, is the official birth date of a Kiwanis club and is celebrated as the anniversary in future years. The charter presentation is conducted a few weeks later, allowing adequate time to plan the event. All members elected before the charter date are considered charter members.

THIS WEEK:
    REMINDER!!!!   Saturday, April 9th   10:00am - 2:00pm

Evening meeting this week!  Guests included Kevin Comeaux and Roman Potier.  Our program was conducted by charter member Carol Lagarde with assistance from charter member Steve Comeaux giving us all an idea of what Kiwanis is all about and how it actually got started 20 years ago.  It is always good to review your roots.  Makes us understand who we are and where we came from.  Thanks, Carol and Steve!

April 16 at 8:00 a.m. is Highway Cleanup spearheaded by Larry and Sarah Roy.  (Her pancake breakfast is worth getting up and picking up trash!)  If you are able to help, please meet at the National Guard Armory to be given your area to work.  It helps if you bring small plastic bags and wear long pants and old shoes and socks.

Margaret and Jean and the Builders Club members made the papers!  Both Teche News and one of the Rayne papers reported on their project to assist the victims of the tornadoes.  Great job, ladies and kids!  BUILDERS – WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!!
