THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

There are no secrets to success: Don’t waste time looking for them. Success

is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty to those for whom you work, and persistence. – Gen. Colin Powell.

The Second Object of Kiwanis:  To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

Kiwanis Education #73: The Kiwanis general liability insurance covers fund-raising and service activities involving the public as well as club activities confined to the membership. Because a high percentage of public liability exposure is the result of a club’s fund-raising and service activities, clubs are permitted to allocate from revenue of fund-raising projects, as a legitimate expense, all premium charges over and above a basic sum.

Webmaster's Note: Yes, these are the same as last week. ::::grins::::  I just post 'em.  ::::snickers:::::

THIS WEEK...

The brave, the habitual, the few who remembered – those were among our ranks at the meeting this week.  Thanks to all who came out to the meeting and who, with Carol’s challenge and encouragement, gave thanks for the people in our lives who have touched us and been kind to us and who should be thanked more than once for their kindness. Margaret, preparing for her role next year, led the meeting this morning and did a great job!

I know I’m repeating myself here, but it’s important!

Please check the calendar of events for upcoming opportunities to be of service.  Carol is in charge of Pictures with Santa and her contact numbers are: work 367-6604; cell 519-2257; and home 394-9809.

Annie is in charge of Foster Children Christmas Party and her contact information is: 394-6239.  Annie will also need assistance with gift wrapping the Saturday before the party.  Call her if you can help.

Our special guest at the meeting was our old friend, Dinky, who came with Marti.  It was great to see her.  Thanks, Marti, for bringing her.

Reminder that we are in the process of collecting for the Mission Project to sponsor milk goats to a village in Haiti.  The deadline for donation matching by the club is the second meeting in December.

Next week is the board meeting.  If you have any items to present before the board, please contact Larry with your requests.  The board decided to begin the meeting at 5:45 p.m. on the nights of the board meetings.

Please be thinking about volunteering for the publicity committee to get our information and events out to the local newspaper.
