THOUGHT/QUOTE
OF THE WEEK:
Thank you,
God, for little things that often come our way, the things we take for
granted but don’t mention when we pray; the unexpected courtesy, the
thoughtful, kindly deed, a hand reached out to help us in the time of
sudden need. Oh make us more aware, dear God, of little daily graces that
come to us with ‘sweet surprise’ from never-dreamed-of-places.

The First Object of Kiwanis:
To give primacy to the human and spiritual,
rather than to the material values of life.
Kiwanis Education #71: The
Kiwanis general liability insurance program is not accident insurance. It
does not cover accidents that may occur during fund-raising and service
projects when no negligence or evidence of failure to provide proper
supervision is found. The insurance protects members, clubs, districts,
and Kiwanis International against legal liability, which generally accrues
from a negligent act or failure to act, resulting in bodily injury to a
person or damage to property. |

THIS WEEK...
Speaker for the meeting was
our own president, Larry Roy, who gave us an interesting talk on his and
Sarah’s recent trip to Montana. He handed out a rough map of the
beautiful state showing their travel route, and had a few pictures to pass
around for all to see; one in particular was several thousand sitting in
wait for “Old Faithful” to do its thing. I must say that from all his
descriptions, Montana sounds like a wonderful place to visit.
Please mark your calendars
for the abundance of activities that we, as Kiwanians, have an opportunity
to be a part of this holiday season. Look at the calendar of events to
see what you want to participate in.
And if you haven’t signed
up to help with reading at ELC, it’s not too late. Let Larry know that
you’d like to help out and he will give you the information you need. If
you can’t volunteer every week but know of someone else who could take
some of the weeks, please know that you can both work together and
volunteer. The important thing is for us to reach the kids who need our
help. |
