THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

When we give it our all,
we can live with ourselves regardless of the results.
                        –William Wordsworth

The Second Object of Kiwanis:    To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

Kiwanis Education #12:  The Kiwanis motto, “We Build,” was adopted in 1920. It was proposed by Roe Fulkerson, first editor of the Kiwanis Magazine, who later said, “God inspired me to write those two words-We Build. I am prouder of them than any other accomplishment in my life.”

THIS WEEK:
"I’m so glad we had this time together …”  Yes indeed, that’s what I sang at the completion of Every Child A Swimmer this Wednesday.  The kids’ big grins, bragging accomplishments, polite THANK YOUs for their tee shirts – all made for a wonderful time together.  And lest we forget, the awesome cooperation of the teachers, aides and Principal at ELC was such a big help.  We could not do this project if they were not on board!  I think for me, the best thing about the week was seeing the special needs children in the pool with a teacher and them accomplishing so much in this time frame.  We also had a great bunch of Builders Club and Key Club members in the pool teaching this year.  Special thanks to Edna for all her hard work and diligence at the pool for the whole session.  I know Chair Christine joins me in thanking everyone who helped with the project.  The Kiwanis volunteers are too numerous to name right here.

Congrats to the slate of officers elected at our meeting this week.  They are as follows:

President – Margaret Richard

President Elect – Doug Melancon

Treasurer – Peggy Hardy

Directors:

Annie Durand (to be appointed Secretary by the board at their first board meeting)

Larry Roy, Past President

Christine/Steve, Pepper Chairs

Margot has Bike Safety Workshop on June 5 at 9:00 a.m.  If you are able to go out and help with that, please do so.  This is always a great project and a worthwhile thing to have at the beginning of the summer.
