THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

Things turn out the best for people
who make the best of the way things turn out.
               ~Anon

The Second Object of Kiwanis:    To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

Kiwanis Education #12:  The Kiwanis motto, “We Build,” was adopted in 1920. It was proposed by Roe Fulkerson, first editor of the Kiwanis Magazine, who later said, “God inspired me to write those two words-We Build. I am prouder of them than any other accomplishment in my life.”

THIS WEEK:

ECAS – ECAS – ECAS – ECAS – ECAS

Translation:  We are conducting one of our biggest projects beginning on the 20th.  Every Child A Swimmer.  Even if you cannot participate, it would behoove you to come by the pool in St. Martinville between the hours of 11:00 and 2:00 to see the kids and Builders Club and Key Club members in the water.  AWESOME PROJECT!  Thanks to Christine, Edna and their team of volunteers!

               Board meeting Thursday evening.

This week’s meeting was in the kitchen and so will the board meeting and next week’s morning meeting.  Dennis says auditors have taken over our meeting space.

Larry thanked KRIS readers on behalf of the principal and staff of ELC.

Lt. Col. Terry Guidry, Asst. Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, was our guest speaker this week.  Terry gave us so much excellent information, not only about the upcoming hurricane season, but what to do in any emergency.  Thanks, Dennis, for bringing this information to us.

Sorry about the brief bulletin but I must be back at the pool to assist with potty breaks and floatie installation.
