THOUGHT/QUOTE
OF THE WEEK:
Happiness cannot come
from without. It must come from within.
It is not what we see and touch or that which others do for us that make
us happy; it is that which we think and feel and do, first for the other
fellow
and then for ourselves. – Helen Keller |
|
The Sixth Object of Kiwanis:
To cooperate in creating and maintaining that
sound public opinion and high idealism, which make possible the increase
of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.
Kiwanis Education #8:
Kiwanis became international with the
organization of the Kiwanis Club of Hamilton in Ontario, Canada, in
November 1916. However, the organization’s official name, “Kiwanis Club,”
was not changed to “Kiwanis International” until the Constitutional
Convention in Denver in 1924. |

THIS WEEK:
Kudos to Christine and
Steve for a well-planned first Pepper Festival meeting! They are bringing
exciting new ideas to our club and we should all be receptive and willing
to do our part to make this coming Pepper Festival as great as it can be.
We’ve decided that the
evening meetings on the first Wednesday of each month will be dedicated to
Pepper Festival business and not have a guest speaker for that night.
Welcome to prospective
member, Doug Melancon, who came to our meeting this week. He came with
completed application in hand and is ready and willing to become our
newest Kiwanian. Doug’s application will be voted on at the board meeting
this month.
