THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

   If you really want to do something,
     you’ll find a way;
           if you don’t you’ll find an excuse.
                                                    --Anon

The Fifth Object of Kiwanis:     To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.

Kiwanis Education #14:   The 1924 convention in Denver, Colorado, became known as the “Constitutional Convention.” In the process of finalizing a complete International Constitution and Bylaws, Kiwanis officially adopted the name Kiwanis International and the six permanent Objects.

THIS WEEK:

     “Summertime and the living is easy …”  Don’t you just love summer?  Without the heat.  Without the mosquitoes.  Without the afternoon showers everyday.  Did I just say I love summer?  I do!  I do!  Anyway, Happy Summer Everyone!

               Be thinking about our fellow Kiwanian Charlar Brew as she begins her new job this coming week as Head Honcho at the St. Martin Parish Library.  Good Luck! I know the library is lucky to have you onboard.

               Speaking of the library, this Saturday is the Bike Safety Workshop at 9:00 a.m. here in St. Martinville.  Margot Addison is in charge.  If you’re able to lend a hand, please do so.

               At the meeting Wednesday night, Larry thanked everyone who participated in Every Child A Swimmer and also congratulated our Key Club Scholarship Recipient, Ms. Shelbie Louviere.

               Pepper Festival Committee meeting was also conducted at this time.  Steve announced that June 30 is deadline for tee shirt selection and band finalization.  Jean has volunteered to chair the coke booth this year.

               President-Elect Margaret Richard will be attending the Kiwanis International Convention in Las Vegas this month.

  I know it’s summer,
      but please try to join us
         at Kiwanis meetings.
            We’d love to see you all!!!!
