THOUGHT/QUOTE
OF THE WEEK:
Members stay members because
they find continued value in service
projects and friendship.
– Paul Palazzolo, Kiwanis International President |
|
The Fourth Object of Kiwanis:
To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and
serviceable citizenship.
Kiwanis Education #19:
A “service project” is defined by Kiwanis
International as “an activity, consistent with the Objects, objectives,
and policies of Kiwanis International, which is devised or planned by a
Kiwanis club or a club committee and performed by members of the club for
the benefit of others.”

THIS WEEK:
Mike Fuselier, City Councilman was our guest speaker this
Wednesday morning and spoke to us about “Our Town”, and the work that is
being done on the new sewage pond and the overlay and repairs of the
streets. Of course, he also thanked the club for our continued help for
the Soccer program.
The Canoe Race on Sept.
17-19 will be coordinated by the Sherriff's Command Center, and may need
help. Craig Prosper will be coordinating the St. Martinville
participation and the Main Street group is working on entertainment.
A reminder from last week:
Larry asked the membership to be considering a new service project which
could be ongoing and more Kiwanians could participate. Put on your
thinking caps, look around your community, and see what you can come up
with as far as ideas and suggestions.
Speakers are needed for the
August meetings.
Gentle Reminder: DUES ARE
DUE!!! If you have not paid your dues, please do so. |
