THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

Greatness is not found in possessions, power, position or prestige.
It is discovered in goodness, humility, service and character.
      ~William Arthur Ward

The Fourth Object of Kiwanis: To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.

Kiwanis Education #18: English is the official language of Kiwanis International. However, key administrative and program literature is published in up to 13 additional languages, and simultaneous translation is provided at International conventions when required by a sufficient number of members.

THIS WEEK:

"Ciao" (Hello) – from Larry and Sarah Roy and Italy.  Yes, "Ciao" is what you say to greet people in Italy. We had a very interesting tour of Italy brought to us by Larry Roy, complete with pictures and a detailed handout with descriptions of everything from transportation methods to cost of things in Europe to buildings to people to eating.  You name it – Larry explained it.  It was an awesome presentation and gave great insight as to the different ways you can see Europe!  Thanks, Larry.

Also at the meeting this week, people were encouraged to participate in the Training in Lafayette Saturday.  If you’d like to attend, call Christine at 394-5264.

NINE YELLOW BEADS LEFT IN THE BAG.  That alone should make the gamblers among us head for the meeting next week.  Paul has announced that there are only nine yellow beads left with the red bead in the bag.  Come to the meeting and gamble on winning beaucoup money.  Oops, wrong language – well, you know what I mean.

If someone would like to speak or bring a speaker to our meeting next week, please contact Larry to let him know this.

For our technological Kiwanians, there are webinars (web-based seminars) online for your information.

Anyway, guys, that’s all for now.  "Ciao" (that’s also goodbye – in Italian.)

So ciao for now.
