THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

  An ounce of action
is worth a pound of theory.
               – Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Sixth Object of Kiwanis:    To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism, which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

Kiwanis Education #7:   Kiwanis International’s continuing service focus is called “Young Children: Priority One.” This program seeks to serve the special needs of young children from prenatal development to age 5 in four areas: maternal and child health; childcare and development; parent education and support; and safety programs and pediatric trauma care.

THIS WEEK:

Peggy Hardy, Marti Harrell and I are co-editors of the bulletin each week.  Peggy puts the bulletin together, including quote, object, education, birthdays, anniversaries.  I write about the week and Marti posts it on the web for us.  As Peggy sent me this week’s bulletin, here was her note to me:  "Hey, check out my quote this week.  I think that we had several ounces of action at the meeting this week."  What do you think?   Larry, Christine, and Steve.  It was one of the best meetings in a long time.

Our guest speaker was unable to attend due to a family emergency but will reschedule at a later date.  Since we didn’t have a speaker, Larry took the opportunity to begin the process of getting things in line for Pepper Festival 2010.  During this time, Steve Comeaux and Christine Berard volunteered to co-chair the festival this year. THANK YOU BOTH!!!!  And with that in mind, we will devote the March 3rd meeting to the festival.  Please make plans to come to that meeting and bring your “A” game with you.  Christine and Steve need all of our support and assistance!

Please pay special attention to the times of the evening meeting and the board meeting scheduled this month.
