THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news.
The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be!
How much you can love! What you can accomplish!
And what your potential is! – Anne Frank

The Fifth Object of Kiwanis:  To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.

Kiwanis Education #5:    Kiwanis International conventions began when the Kiwanis Club of Cleveland invited representatives of other clubs to meet there in May 1916. At that time there were a total of 16 clubs with 1,924 members. A Kiwanis International convention has been conducted every year since then, except for limited conferences in 1943-45 due to wartime travel restrictions. Today, the usual attendance at an International convention is about 12,000.

THIS WEEK:

Between the Saints winning the Superbowl , hell freezing over, and the snow on Friday, Gerry completely forgot the bulletin.  Please bear with us because today, Monday, she is having computer issues.

We had a wonderful Who Dat Super Bowl party at Jean & Ben’s.  It’s too bad not more members were able to attend.  There was  jubilant celebrating and high-fiving going on there.  Thank you Jean and Ben.

Guest speaker was Carly Bulliard, U. S. Census Coordinator, who gave an interesting talk on the history of  the Census, and the importance of having everyone counted every 10 years.  Anyone who is interested in working for the Census, can sign up at the St. Martin Parish Library.  The pay is $13.25 per hour.

During the April meetings, "From the Heart" donations will be set aside for Skip-a-Meal program for Kiwanis International.

HAPPY  MARDI  GRAS!!
