THOUGHT/QUOTE
OF THE WEEK:
If you’re
lucky enough to do well,
it’s your
responsibility to send the elevator back down.
– Kevin Spacey |
|
The Third Object of Kiwanis:
To promote the adoption and the application of
higher social, business, and professional standards.
Kiwanis Education #73:
Kiwanis dues cannot be claimed as a personal tax
deduction. As nonprofit corporations, Kiwanis clubs do not pay taxes on
income. But Kiwanis clubs do not qualify as deductible charities for
members or donors who provide the club’s income. This is why some clubs,
districts, and Kiwanis International have established charitable
foundations to receive tax-deductible donations for service purposes. |

THIS WEEK...
Kayla Sonnier and Aimee
Guidry, Nurse Practitioners, gave an informative talk about their new
business in St. Martinville, Partners in Healthcare. They explained all
the services available, and stressed that their main focus is preventative
medicine, but they can also diagnose and treat. If necessary, they will
recommend that you see a specialist. They are also implementing a “house
call” program for the homebound. We wish them good luck in their new
practice.
This coming Wednesday will
be our Foster Children Christmas Party at the Sterling Alexander Community
Center in Southside Park. The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. but Kiwanis
help is needed from 4:00 p.m. until it begins. NO MORNING MEETING!

The Pictures with Santa
have been postponed to December 19, same time, same places.
Our special project to
procure milk goats for the mission project in Haiti resulted in $267
collected from Kiwanians and with the matching from our club, we will be
donating $534 to purchase goats.
