THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet.
Only through experience of trial and suffering
can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.
                                                – Helen Keller

The Fifth Object of Kiwanis: To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.

Kiwanis Education #22:  Kiwanis membership surpassed 10,000 in 1919 and reached 100,000 in 1928. Membership fell below the 100,000 mark during the economic depression years of 193 1-1939, but again surpassed 100.000 in 1940. In 1952, membership passed the 200,000 mark and reached 300,000 in 1979.

THIS WEEK:
Sorry, guys, way too much going on this week for me to be well organized for this bulletin.

Congratulations to Christine Berard who was sworn in as our new Lt. Governor for Division 17 at the recent Kiwanis District Convention, which happened to be a cruise.  Christine was our guest speaker this week and told us about the wonderful workshops that she and Dan attended.  I think her most impressive workshop was the one where they toured the tequila factory.  Just kidding.  That tour was on their own time!  Anyway, fun and exciting and informative was the report from Christine at the meeting on Wednesday.

I am unable to report on the Board Meeting because I did not attend.  Will try to get a report from someone who did and give that to you next week.

School has begun and I’m sure that we will be gearing up for Key Clubs, Builders Clubs and KRIS (Kiwanians Reading In Schools).  Please try to get involved in one of our youth programs.  We can always use the help.

Gentle Reminder:
 DUES ARE DUE!!!

If you have not paid your dues,
 please do so.
