THIS WEEK:
The final lazy days of
summer are evident by the sparse attendance at our Kiwanis meeting this
week. I guess people are taking the opportunity to make the most of the
vacation times before school starts. You know, even though most of us are
well past the age of having kids beginning school, we seem to be in the
same mode of operation that summer ends when the kids go back to school.
What’s up with that?
We had a very informal
meeting this morning with no guest speaker but plenty of sharing by
members present.
Steve Comeaux talked about
the Smithsonian Journey Stories which is coming to St. Martinville.
There will be a community meeting on August 25 at the Acadian Memorial
from 6-8 p.m. Find out how you can take part!
Jim Robb was back in
attendance after an absence of 6 weeks or so. He has shingles and has
been battling that since the end of June.
Dan and Christine are
representing our club at the District Convention At Sea beginning tomorrow
(Thursday). Christine will be installed as Lt. Gov. for Division 17 at
this convention. Thanks, Christine, for your willingness to serve Kiwanis
and our District.
Larry is in the process of
ordering “thank you” gifts for his Kiwanis Team. If you served on the
board with Larry, please contact him so that you can share your gift wish
with him. I think he’s looking for sizes from each person.
Hope to see you next week
at the meeting! |
