THOUGHT/QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
Christmas is not just a season,
Christmas is not just a day,
Christmas is more than a reason
For parties, presents and play.

              Christmas is truly the essence
              Of joy that the Savior brings;
              Christmas is surely the presence
Of Jesus, the Kings of Kings!
                                             --William Arthur Ward

The Fourth Object of Kiwanis:  To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.

Kiwanis Education #29:  The goal of Kiwanis International’s Worldwide Service Project is to eliminate iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) as a major world health concern. Iodine is important for proper brain and nervous system development, so iodine deficiency is especially dangerous during prenatal development and early childhood. IDD is the leading preventable cause of mental retardation in the world today.

THIS WEEK:

Take your right hand (lefties, please reverse instructions) and reach across your chest over to your left shoulder and PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK!!!!  From what I hear, you guys did an excellent job with Foster Children Christmas Party, gift wrapping and Pictures with Santa.  This is why we are Kiwanians – this warm, wonderful feeling that we get by making the lives of children a little better than they were before.
Thank you for wanting to make a difference, for wanting to be a Kiwanian, and for all that you do for the children of the world.  NOW, if you’ll just invite a friend to join your great club and share in this awesome feeling that carries you through the holiday season well into the new year!!!
Special thanks to Annie for chairing Foster Children Party, Jean for chairing the food, and Carol for chairing the Pictures with Santa.

REMEMBER THAT THERE WILL BE NO MEETING NEXT WEDNESDAY MORNING.  STAY HOME ON CHRISTMAS EVE! We will have a special meeting on New Year’s Eve with special breakfast and liquid refreshments. (Steve, please let Danna’s know about no meeting on Christmas Eve).

May the anniversary of Jesus’ birth warm your hearts with the glow of love for little children this season and always.  Merry Christmas to all!

President’s Corner
There are no words of wisdom from your fearless leader today,
he’s home nursing a cold.
But I know he would want me to tell you that he’s making a list, checking it twice,
and there are not nearly enough names on his committee list, ESPECIALLY PEPPER CHAIR,
nor is there anyone’s name next to Vice President. He’s so sad about this.
 Cheer him up!  VOLUNTEER!
